Highly recommend this very enjoyable tour of the Moody Mansion and learning more about the history of Texas, as well as the sustainable and smart architecture of the day.

Was pleased to learn that Moody was a family man, and taught his daughter how to run the business when she showed interest.

Loved the quippy little reminder cards placed throughout the house to remind visitor to not touch things or sit on the furniture.

Definitely NOT worth $15. What’s the point of this attraction when there’s barely any furniture or actual décor just sarcastic notes scattered around the house? They have closet doors and other features you’d think you could explore, but the moment you try, they literally tell you not to open them. Half the rooms are blocked off, which makes you wonder what the real point even is. It’s boring, basic, and honestly disappointing. The other house is way bigger & better!

Even other guests were trying to take simple photos on the patio with the plants and were told “no.” You can’t even grab the front door 🤦🏽‍♀️ 😂 u gotta press the door bell. If the goal is to make visitors feel like they’re not welcome, then you might as well either A) close the place down or B) offer private tours so staff can monitor everyone.

Super neat old restored house. Such an interesting piece of history and the house just fits the story. Highly recommend if you like old antiques and neat history.

Really nice, volunteer guide walked our group thru the mansion, talking and answering our many questions.

For my wife's birthday, we decided to explore the Moody Mansion in Galveston, and it turned out to be an unexpectedly enchanting experience. We opted for the Mary Moody audio guided tour, and it was absolutely captivating.

The tour is incredibly immersive, seamlessly weaving together the rich history of Galveston and the Moody family. Listening to the audio narration while observing the meticulously preserved artifacts and architecture truly brought the past to life. Each room and object held a story, and the tour provided fascinating insights into a pivotal era in Galveston's history.

The mansion's elegance and grandeur, coupled with the detailed historical narrative, created an atmosphere that was, at times, reminiscent of a Bridgerton episode – a delightful surprise, especially for my wife, who is a fan of the show. I must admit, I was a bit surprised when she chose this for her birthday, but the experience was truly memorable.

The audio tour allowed us to explore at our own pace, soaking in the details and appreciating the historical significance of each element. It wasn't just a tour; it was a journey back in time, offering a glimpse into the lives of a prominent family and the vibrant history of Galveston.

If you're looking for a unique and enriching experience in Galveston, the Moody Mansion tour is an absolute must. The Mary Moody audio tour, in particular, is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the history and elegance of this remarkable landmark. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it made for a truly special birthday outing.

PS: I'm still waiting for my free racoon.

Well worth the entrance fee. Step back in time and visit the Moody family's home. Excellent exhibits and well thought out audio tour. Staff is very friendly ("H" did a great job welcoming us). Parking lot is a bit small, but if you get there when they open you should be fine. Don't miss out on the garage with the vintage autos. We did not purchase tickets ahead of time and had no wait on a Wed in the morning.

This is a beautiful place to visit. Their is a lot of history here. It dates back to the 1800's and survived the big hurricane of 1900. You can listen to each room's history on your phone. It only costs about $15 and lasts about an hour. It definitely was fascinating to see how the rich people lived back then.
