Really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is right across from the beach so it’s great for a beach day. When they have live music on the roof you can hear it from the pool (perfect nighttime swim). Rooftop bar and on site restaurant were great.

Our vacation to Galveston was a blast and Hotel Lucine was a big part as to why. The food was unexpectedly really good, especially the breakfast tacos and brunch at The Fancy. Free coffee and water in the lobby. And the workers here are top notch. Shoutout to one guy, didn’t get his name, but skinny dude with a ponytail and tattoos who told me he worked back to back 14 hour days over Labor Day weekend. That guy deserves a raise and also made my gf a delicious pina colada.

The rooms were really nice too. The bed was great. Only complaints are that the rooms are all so close to the pool that you hear kids by 8am screaming and having a good time and the curtains let a lot of light in.

But I would stay here again for the location and atmosphere for sure. Galveston seems like the kind of town where you get out what you put in and staying here definitely made the visit all the better. Also it was dope being so close to Lucky’s Lounge and two other sports bars opening weekend of college football.

Really fun long weekend and you’re surrounded by a lot of cool places.

One star. We stayed at Hotel Lucine on July 10th. Like many people who probably discovered this hotel through social media, we were excited for a girls’ weekend in Galveston at what looked like a cute boutique hotel. Unfortunately, the experience was nowhere close to what we expected.

I can look past some dinginess and even the overpriced drinks—I was charged over $100 for four regular drinks—but what I cannot look past is something incredibly unsanitary happening inside our room.

We found a mouse in our room, and based on what we discovered, it was very clear this was not a mouse that had simply wandered in that evening. There were mouse droppings in the bottom drawer where the “extra blanket” was stored, and they appeared to have been accumulating for some time. That immediately raised serious concerns about how thoroughly the room had been cleaned and inspected. I was honestly horrified wondering whether our bedding had come from that same area, and I still don't know the answer to that.

To make matters worse, one of the friends staying with us was actively undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Having someone with a compromised immune system staying in a room with evidence of an unchecked rodent issue made an already unacceptable situation even more concerning.

Despite all of this, we were incredibly understanding with the staff and tried not to make an ordeal out of it. Unfortunately, it turned into one anyway because of them. We spent more than two hours going back and forth with the overnight staff, who seemed completely unprepared to handle the situation. We were exhausted and had been ready to go to bed, but instead we were kept up while they tried to determine what could be done. For much of that time, we were told there were no other rooms available—only to eventually be moved to another room after all.

But the part that ultimately earned this review one star is what happened afterward.

We were told management would reach out to address what happened and make it right. They never did. My friend made multiple attempts to contact the hotel afterward and received no meaningful response. We were ignored. Considering the circumstances, I cannot understand how this wasn't management's first priority and addressed first thing Monday morning. We shouldn't have had to repeatedly chase the hotel for a response after finding a rodent and droppings in our room.

Mistakes and unexpected situations can happen at any hotel. What matters is how a hotel responds when they do. We were patient, cooperative, and gave Hotel Lucine every opportunity to address this privately. The complete lack of follow-up or accountability afterward is ultimately what turned an awful situation into a one-star experience.

She also posted a review where it said they would email her and NOTHING. Honestly, it is a joke at this point.

The picture may not show much but there were droppings in multiple places in multiple drawers under the bed. Beware!

I saw that they had a beach bar this weekend and decided to spend some of my afternoon there. Excellent service and great vibes. Miss Zelda was fantastic and welcoming.

Aside from generator placement, it was great vibes with the music. I understand it was the first time and I gotta say that yall did excellent.

I did not stay at the hotel

We booked the Hotel Lucine for the night of our wedding and every moment from check-in through check-out was wonderful. We were greeted by name and had a personalized card waiting for us in our room congratulating us. The room was clean and had the best smelling shampoo and conditioner. We had lunch on the upstairs rooftop and enjoyed the seawall view the next day and dinner at The Fancy. The food and cocktails were delicious. It was so nice being able to stay on hotel property for our meals! Can’t wait to come stay again!

Just had a mini mother - daughter vaca at Hotel Lucine in Galveston. Service was top notch! Super friendly and inviting staff throughout the 3 days from walking through the front door until I walked back out. Bed was luxurious, pool was so inviting, food was great. The lobby felt alive everytime went through it. Lucky had the best out of this world homemade Riccota served with Texas toast, I wanted to bring some home with me. Looking forward to our next trip down to the island!

Recently visited from Houston for a mini staycation and was so happy with my stay! First, the hotel is GORGEOUS. Aesthetically it really reminded me of being in Palm Springs. Second, the staff is STELLAR. Every single staff member I encountered was incredibly kind and gave exceptional service. The pool felt like it was slightly heated at night, which was perfect. The food at The Fancy is delicious. If I had one gripe about my stay it was how difficult it can be to find parking. But I’d say it’s worth it for the experience I had at the hotel. I’ll definitely be back on my next Galveston trip!

Hotel Lucine is the perfect getaway in Galveston. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and had such a fun mid-century modern vibe that made the stay feel unique and relaxing. The rooftop food and drinks were also amazing- definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We absolutely loved our stay and would 100% come back again.

Take a trip back to the 50’s and 60’s style motel only with all the bells and whistles of today. Beautifully restored to get that nostalgic feeling. With a rooftop bar with plenty of seating you have a spectacular view of the Gulf. Located on Seawall Blvd. it’s only a few steps from the beach. The staff is very friendly and a big plus, they are pet friendly.

We had such a great stay at Hotel Lucine. Marissa at the front desk was super sweet and welcoming from the moment we walked in. She made everything feel easy and comfortable right away.

The beds were really cozy and we slept so good. The location is perfect and being walking distance to the beach made it even better. They were also very accommodating with our dogs, which we really appreciated.

Overall it was such a nice little mini getaway for us. We would definitely recommend staying here and would come back again.

This is a message for the owners. Love the rooftop bar and love the live music. But, we were there on Saturday night for two and a half hours, and didn't see a single server taking drink orders out on the deck. The workers were only clearing empty glasses. There were probably 50-60 people listening to the band that would have loved refills without having to get up and go to the bar themselves.
My advice... order more glasses and have those service workers picking up glasses take drink orders. The bar missed an opportunity to probably double their revenue last night. We watched people drain a drink. Sit there for awhile listening to music and then leave.

Great location. Across from the beach! Not getting sand in your ride that’s for sure. Decent pool. Great bar. Pretty good menu. Have not tried dinner in their restaurant. Heres what’s really important to us. Rooms are GREAT. Just enough space. BEDS ARE COMFORTABLE. STAFF IS OVER THE TOP. Super chill relaxing feel hotel with 4.5 STAR SERVICE. Much of the staff remains the same from a few months back and that was nice to see. We will keep coming back here that’s for certain. Great rooftop for the night scene and to see the sunrise. Thank you Hotel Lucine!!!!

I came here with my friend for the summer and I cannot recommend this hotel enough! The staff are outstanding at what they do, they are so welcoming, warm, and professional. The rooms are so charming, and the pool is heated as well. The food you can order from the hotel is some of the most delicious, high quality food I’ve ever had. It was always fresh and would arrive quickly! I would skip the actual restaurant inside though. 😅The location is just amazing as well, plenty of parking and literally right across from the ocean. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, they made our trip so memorable and special. Hope to return soon and looking forward to it!

I recently had the pleasure of attending the *Queens for Greens* brunch at Hotel Lucine, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish! The food was an exquisite blend of flavors, with each dish prepared to perfection. From fresh, vibrant salads to decadent, savory plates, it was clear that every ingredient was thoughtfully selected and expertly crafted. The drinks were equally impressive—refreshing, creative, and beautifully presented.

What really made the experience stand out was the entertainment. It added a fun, lively vibe without overpowering the relaxing atmosphere of the brunch.

Speaking of atmosphere, Hotel Lucine has perfected the art of ambiance. The space was elegant, cozy, and welcoming, with natural light pouring in and a stylish, yet comfortable setting. Every detail, from the seating to the decor, contributed to a wonderfully laid-back but chic environment.

Overall, it was a truly memorable brunch that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for great food, drinks, and an unforgettable time. Can’t wait to return!

Not an impressive place to drive up to, but once you get through the front door, what a fabulous little gem in Galveston! The staff are fabulous, the bar is really well stocked, and Miriam are bartender was quite entertaining and creative! This was our first stay and frankly, we liked it so much we canceled our future plans at another property to stay here. You really won't be disappointed. The location is just across from the beach and it's easy to get to anywhere in the East End of the island.

Hotel Lucine is everything you want in a stat—thoughtful design, welcoming staff, and a perfect blend of midcentury charm, location ON the seawall, and a cozy cool and patio. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place was created with love and attention to detail. The decor is stylish but not overdone, and the atmosphere strikes that rare balance between laid-back and upscale.

But let’s talk about the food—because even if you’re a serious foodie, the restaurant here delivers. Every dish is well-executed, fresh, and full of flavor, with a menu that feels intentional rather than just trendy. Whether you’re grabbing breakfast, a late dinner, or a few bites at the rooftop bar, you can tell there’s real talent in the kitchen. The cocktails are just as impressive, making the whole dining experience one of the highlights of the stay.

And the rooms? Cozy, well-designed, and comfortable, with little touches that make you feel at home. If you’re heading to Galveston and want something beyond the usual chain hotel experience, Lucine is a no-brainer. Can’t wait to come back!
