Palmetto Osteria has a light, airy atmosphere, waterfront views, and a menu filled with seafood, handmade-style pastas, steaks, and shareable starters. Sweethearts can pair dishes such as Amalfi mussels, black truffle fettuccini, branzino, or the restaurant’s famous giant meatball with an extensive wine list or creative cocktails, making the meal feel a little more special than your average night out. Palmetto Osteria is a pasta-tively perfect choice for a romantic meal.
The restaurant is located in a small development with just a few businesses, and the whole area gives you the feeling of being somewhere like Rosemary Beach or Alys Beach in Florida, but without having to leave Galveston. It’s a beautiful and unique atmosphere.
The restaurant itself has a wonderful indoor area with multiple different spaces and atmospheres, while the outdoor patio overlooks a beautiful lake. The service was simply unbeatable — absolutely spectacular from beginning to end.
The food was excellent. I highly recommend the Frutti di Mare and the Rigatoni Bolognese. The Frutti di Mare is especially a great choice if you enjoy a little bit of spice. The prices are also very reasonable considering the quality of the pasta and the overall experience.
The tiramisu was absolutely spectacular and definitely worth trying. During our visit, I also had the opportunity to try a local beer, which I really enjoyed and thought was a great complement to the meal.
What made the experience even more memorable was that, after the staff found out that we had just gotten engaged, they surprised us by giving us a bottle of champagne so everyone at the table could celebrate and make a toast together. That was such a thoughtful gesture and something we truly appreciated.
Between the beautiful setting, incredible service, delicious food, generous portions, reasonable prices, and the special attention we received for our engagement, this place exceeded our expectations. Definitely a restaurant I would recommend and a place we will remember for a very special moment in our lives.

The view overlooking the lake was stunning, the food was divine and the service felt relaxed, easy, and welcoming. Our server felt less like staff and more like an extension of our family.
We all enjoyed our food and the wine we paired with it. Dessert was great as well. Mother’s Day was a hit. I’m glad we chose this place. And, thanks to Eric our overall experience was exactly what we expected.
