Galveston East End Guest House

This is more than a room, rather a steam-punk themed small apartment with a library, a dining room, a small kitchen and a gorgeous bedroom with an extremely comfortable bed - I might have slept through boarding my cruise ship if it weren't for having the most amazing little breakfast delivered to my door at 8:15 am. (This is pre-arranged).

The owners are very responsive to texting, guiding us through the very simple check in process and even providing hints when we discovered the "escape room" game that the room has available and we discovered by accident by being nosy! LOL

There are a million little touches in this room that made it the most unique experience we've ever had.

The Galveston East End Guest House is a comfortable walking distance to The Strand - about a 1/2 mile to the east end of it and being adventurous (and a little cheap) we chose to walk to the cruise port (about a 3/4 of a mile) rather than uber.

We would absolutely stay here again and we're already recommending it to friends heading to Galveston.

(I hope I don't wind up making it so that there's no room at the inn for us the next time we head to Galveston!)

Gorgeously decorated house and room! We stayed in the Buckingham Suite, which had a parlor with electric fireplace/heater and private balcony, bedroom with a huge, incredibly comfortable bed, closet and spacious bathroom, and a delightful kitchenette! We took our breakfast there, which was delivered each morning to our door and included thoughtful and romantic touches. I mean, just look at those photos!

The whole street is just lovely and the location was close to all the best parts of Galveston Island.

If you’re looking for a stunning romantic retreat, this is your place!

We especially loved the library room in our suite, which has a cozy little reading nook perfect for a lazy post-beach afternoon. We even fell in love with the brand of earl grey tea they have stocked! Wonderful with the little biscotti our hosts left as complimentary snacks. Hosts were super gracious in giving recommendations for beach spots, accommodating late checkout, etc.

Only downsides to the room - and these are very minor - were:
1) for a very short person like me, some things like towels, mirrors, etc are a little high up. All good once I found a stepstool, but it took me a while to realize they had one available!
2) There’s not a ton of natural light in the Carlton suite, especially in the morning. If that’s important to you, you might want a different suite that faces another direction.
3) The shower (there is no bath) in the Carlton is very small, so if you’re a larger person it can feel a little cramped.

If you choose to stay here, I expect you will have a wonderful time. We have already recommended this place to our friends and hope to come back again to try the other suites!

But, this place is definitely worth sharing with the world. 🥳

We visit Galveston often and will not be staying elsewhere from now on. This has become our new go-to.
