Walked in after a cruise not knowing what to expect. The manager greeted us and explained no worried its casual sunday. The service was exceptional! The breakfast buffet was amazing with plenty of options. Stumbled upon this spot on accident. After this visit now its a mandatory visit every cruise.

Marais has always been one of my favorites. Doug and his staff has always treated me and party like family. I actually feel spoiled at times and this night was no different. There is a chef in their kitchen by the name of Chef Joshua Waddel. Now I have always been a fan of chef Josh and his work, On this night he spoiled me with a Glazed pork chop, over dirty andouille and confit risotto, with a honey bourbon sauce. I was in heaven with every bite and can’t wait to go back to try more.

I'd like to start by saying that the food was very well prepared. We tried their ~$45 buffet and every single dish I tried were great. Some highlights were the chicken (fried and grilled), gumbo, shrimp, and Prime Rib. Sides were excellent too. We went when they had a Jazz band and that's such a nice touch. The only downside is the price. I get why they are charging what they charge for the buffet, but I can't help but think that it's American Cuisine. If you omit the gumbo and prime rib, most things can be made either at home or at a reputable mom and pop location for much cheaper. I find the price a little unfair and made me reach for more expensive entrees to justify the price charged. I'm cheap tho and I'm a firm believer of food being affordable. I felt very fancy there tho. I guess you are paying for the whole package and if you consider the whole package then it's a very fair price. Would definitely return for special occasions.

Love this place! It was our first time coming here and everyone was super nice. The food was sooooo delicious! We are still talking about it! Will return, if I could give more stars I would. (I corrected the stars, 5 Stars! 😁)

We had a wonderful time, food was delicious. Our waiter Chris was wonderful! Our only disappointment was how the manager asked us to leave. It was very loud and rude. We understood that it was mother's day so it was busier than usual but we were only there for less than an hour and a half but it was his demeanor, so rude. My sister also asked him where the restroom was and she was shocked how he responded rudely. Other than that experience, we had a great time.

Pretty abysmal experience for their Mother’s Day brunch. We made a reservation for 7 with one being a 2 year old. They seated us at a high top and gave us a standard high chair for him. His head didn’t even reach the table. We asked for a booster seat and of course they did not have any. I had to hold my 2 year old in my lap for the entirety of my meal since I had no way of securing him in a chair 4 feet off of the ground. Half of their advertised main courses ran out after the first rush so needless to say I did not get a good portion of the listed menu items because I had to sit with our child while my wife was able to power down her meal as we had to eat our meals in shifts while one secured the toddler. We hadn’t been here in a while since having the child but this was definitely the most memorable visit we’ve had.

We went to dinner with our friends to celebrate a birthday. Our server, Chris, was very good. Whenever he missed something he was quick to apologize and then correct it. The food was delicious. I had the sirloin special with the side of mash potatoes. The creamsicle creme brulee was fantastic. This was the first time I ate dinner there. I will definitely try it again.

This is a top notch restaurant. Excellent food, service, atmosphere, quietness. Indoors, outdoors on the water, patio area, indoor bar area, they have you covered. Portions are decent. We will definitely be back. I have negative bad to say about this place.

We went for a friend's birthday, first time there. It was incredible! The venue is just spectacular. They have swings at the bar! Now don't let that fool you, this place is classy. We shared fried green tomatoes and they were delicious, the drinks were wonderful and the entrees were just fantastic. I had the salmon and it was like a symphony in your mouth! To finish off the evening we got the tres leches cake, it had boozy ice cream and fruity pebbles! I still think about that cake. We had a wonderful time, service was great, atmosphere great and food and drinks were just out of this world great. We will definitely be back. Sorry there are no photos, when I dine with others I like to be present and give them my full attention.

Our food and service last night was impeccable! We sat outside and the atmosphere was nice. We will be back. I ordered the short rib ravioli and my husband got the elk. Delicious. We also got candied bacon and banana foster. Everything tasted great. The server was kind and kept our drinks full. I believe the owner even checked on us. (Maybe manager) overall great experience.

Marais is absolutely amazing. From the time we walked in, Scott our bartender gave wonderful suggestions and made us feel very very comfortable. The setting is very warm and inviting. The prices are right, and the oysters off the grill are absolutely amazing. I would give this place 10 stars if I could, and plan on spending a lot of time here. With great views, a comfortable atmosphere, and amazing food combinations, Marais is here to stay... I will do my best to support it staying open. It's amazing try it You will not be disappointed.

Great special occasion spot for large groups. Beautiful outdoor patio right on the river. Service was good but timing was a little off. There were 8 of us. We had the tilefish. Redfish, scallops, beef short rib pasta, fried chicken, elk and shrimp w grits. For appetizers we had raw oysters, Parmesan crusted oysters, spinach and cheese oysters, crab beignets and candied bacon. The food was amazing! I would skip the spinach and cheese oysters and the crab beignets next time but everything else was spot on. We also had several desserts. Tab w 4 bottles of wine tip and tax ran about $120 pp.

So we went here for our anniversary, I have been trying to bring my girl here for quite some time. This is hands down the best cajun restaurant I've been in or around the Houston area. Oh, and yes, Google Maps calls this place an American restaurant. It's really a cajun restaurant. But the service was incredible. Our server always checked on us. They have employees who constantly refill your water glass. The atmosphere makes you feel like you just walked into a restaurant right off from New Orleans. The food, oh lord, the food! That was probably the best shrimp and grits I've ever tasted. If I could, I would rate them higher than a 5. I would absolutely love to come back!

It was okay. I might go back for happy hour but not for dinner. The place has been around for 7 years. I guess what you order is a hit and miss. The happy hour oysters were very small but of course it could be the time of year... The lobster appetizer was horrible. I couldn't even eat it. I opted to eat the cheese that was around it. The gumbo is amazing!! If you like a dark rou you got to have this one! We had the Thursday special which was half a chicken Nashville style with Cajun green beans and spinach and garlic. The chicken was stringy and very quite awkward. The beans and the spinach made up for it though. They were very delicious. Maybe just a little bit too much salt in the spinach okay... Bar on service is great. Very attentive. Very friendly, very informative!

This was a birthday dinner for my wife and while the food and drinks were amazing, the service was disappointing. At first, our server was very attentive and friendly. But then she was seemingly absent for the rest of the dinner. It turns out that she had a table of seven that demanded more of her attention. While I understand the obvious implications of a table of seven versus three, it’s not my problem. Do better Marais!
