The food was great. I had the risotto and it was absolutely packed with seafood. That dish was a lot of food- I recommend splitting it with someone. I went on a Saturday night and they were hopping. Reservations would be a good idea on the weekend because people were waiting for tables when I left. This is obviously a family run business. The pasta is made in-house and the menu said the desserts were as well. My only complaint was I was sat at the bar and they really need to replace the chairs. The chair cushions were collapsing and the chairs were too low. I felt like a little kid at the adult table. Really, the restaurant should just get rid of that seating option. They would lose 3 seats- but the staff would have better work space.

My spouse and I come down to Galveston atleast once a year. This trip we lost our go-to Italian restaurant on The Strand. Google maps and reviews led us to Trattoria LA Viga. Our first visit here left us with only one regret, that regret was that we did not come here sooner! Food, amazing, pasta was beyond words, desert.... to quote the wife "we are not leaving this table until we finish this". We will be back.

First time trying veal osso bucco and I loved it. Served on saffron rissoto. My wife had lobster ravioli with a lobster tail on top. She loved her's too. We had a great Sicilian wine and Panna Cotta for desert. This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Galveston

Trattoria La Vigna is a little piece of Italy right in the heart of Texas. The food was outstanding – fresh, authentic, and prepared with great care. The service was also very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Anyone in the area looking for good Italian cuisine should definitely stop by. Highly recommended!

Wonderful anniversary dinner at Trattoria La Vigne. We shared the octopus as an appetizer (our server Victoria suggested we have it lightly grilled and we are so grateful for the recommendation); it was light, refreshing and surprisingly tender and delicious. For entrees, I had the veal campagnola and my husband had the veal marsala; both were melt in your mouth wonderful. We finished our meal with the lemon cheesecake (a perfect ending). We both thought the prices were very fair for the quality and portions and we will definitely be back.

We have spent in an ordinate amount of time in Galveston over the last 30 years. Simply every restaurant it has to offer, that it was only a few years ago after my husband googled boat restaurants that only the locals know about“, that we discovered Trattoria La Vigna. Owned by Sicilian immigrants, Pina and Salvatore (Sal) Ruggieri, all the recipes are Chef Pina’s and the pasta and gnocchi are all made in house. Every dish we have had here has been out of the world, but I am especially in love with the Zuppa de Pesci pictured here. Unbelievable!

Pasta is made in-house by the staff. Amazing food, tasted so fresh and homey. I also got a glass of Moscato that was very sweet and refreshing. For the entree, I got the shrimp scampi and it was 10/10!

Okay the food is exceptional. Osso Bucco was melt in the mouth 👌 awesomeness. Lobster ravioli was exceptional. But I reluctant to try cannoli... in Texas it is hard to find a good one.... they proved me wrong. Best in Texas.... maybe better than New England. Mike Pastry's better watch out.

Super excited to come here and then we get here and everything‘s shut down and there’s a sign on the window that says reservations only so make sure you call ahead

Horrible service. Will never return. Made reservation through open table for 9:45pm. There was even a 10pm seating available. Arrive at restaurant early and we’re told they are closed. No apology. Said they didn’t care that we had reservations and kept saying we should have made them earlier! What difference does that make?! Then they proceeded to blame open table for accepting reservations later than what the restaurant accepts. Well maybe learn to program your reservations system. Last thing I’ll say - the chef owner who basically told the staff not to seat us - maybe comb your hair or use a hairnet! Gross.

I was looking forward to dining at this restaurant for my birthday but the Chicken piccata was very salty and my friend said the same about her meal. Our server was not friendly or attentive. Overall a disappointing experience.

Great food and friendly service! Calamari, Caesar salad, chicken Parmesan, the veal Marsala, and the Nutella cheesecake. We loved everything and will definitely be back.

Food was great! Wine was good too! I would give it 5 stars but the service wasn’t that great maybe it was a language barrier or maybe I got sized up for a being a cheap tipper due to my ethnic background….. but the bread was great! Till we ordered more bread and it came out cold, $45 for chicken Alfredo ( it’s not on the menu so you have to pay a premium) no big deal, our kid wanted it…. The desserts were amazing too. I really would give it 5 stars, but the rushed lack luster service was what it was.

We were a group of six, and every single one of us was blown away by the food. The flavors were so rich and authentic—true Italian cuisine done right. All six dishes came out perfect, and not a single bite disappointed. They also had a great wine selection, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend if you’re in Galveston and want something memorable!

We visit Galveston for July 4th each year and found this gem a few years ago. It is literally a "hidden" gem because you may not spot it just driving by. Everything is prepared from scratch. Our only "complaint" is that the complimentary white bread is toasted and is hard to dip in the oil. We asked for non-toasted and it was perfect. The portions are large, as usual at Italian restaurants. I tried the spaghetti with homemade sausage this time, and it was delicious. It looks like the restaurant is located at a Trolley stop. There is a parking lot across the street, but, we're afraid to park there in case we get towed - but there is plenty of paid street parking.

A hidden gem of Galveston! The bread and oil is the best. We are obsessed with the pasta made in-house. It’s expensive, but the portions are good. Definitely worth it! The chocolate cheesecake is the perfect way to finish the meal. We cannot get enough of this place, and we will be back!

We were here for our anniversary. We came in early thank goodness because you really need to have a reservation for restaurant week and I completely spaced it! The owner came over to our table and chatted with us and let us know that she makes her gnocchi in house and WOW! That effort is worth it because her gnocchi was INCREDIBLE!

Food is authentic Italian and made to order. I was surprised to know that the Cheesecake didn't have any sugar, but was excellent. Great wine pairings and large portions. I don't know what they do to it, but the calamari is the best. Very tender and not chewy.

Absolutely amazing Italian food. Our group got lasagna, shrimp ravioli, and chicken Marsala. Followed by cappuccino and espresso. I have food allergies and they were able to make my shrimp and veggies with no butter. The shrimp were perfection!!
