This is by far the best restaurant in All of Texas!! I am at a loss for words. Amazing everything!! We have been to many places and this place tops them all. Bruno was our server and he was so kind and attentive. The chef came out to meet us and was so humble and kind. I highly recommend for those who are looking for the best Lobster Bisque, fish, steak, and dessert. The Bread Pudding is a must!! We will be back as this place is at the top of our list now!

Wow!!! This place was amazing!! We came here for our 6th wedding anniversary and had an incredible dinner. Service was top notch. We had oysters to start off. So delicious we had to order more. We ended up splitting the lamp chops lollipops and the snapper. It was fantastic!! Everything was delicious! They gave us a cute tiramisu cake for our anniversary and I had the caramel espresso martini which did not disappoint. Could not recommend more!

We decided to go to Vargas since we had not visited the restaurant before during restaurant week in Galveston. After we were seated we were told the the restaurant week menue was only avaliable on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We were a bit confused on the days since their website shows they are closed on Mondays. We decided to stay since we were there. The food was fantastic in flavors and presentation. The drinks and wine were very good and of high quality. The service was great. Their entrée are large enough to split. If we miss the days of the restaurant week only menues, whish I don't believe were listed on the original Ad on visitgalveston.com. Over all the experience was a good one and our waiter Oscar great.

Our first time ever going here. I called to see if they had a wait time and they said they did not (surprisingly). When we got there they opened the door for us and already had our table ready! The atmosphere is very comfortable - with low lighting - and the servers are very friendly. The food was amazing. Blueberry ice cream was to die for. I recommend ordering a martini and splitting it with someone. That was a fun experience! Lol I can’t believe I had never been here before. This will be my husband and I’s regular dinner spot when we visit Galveston!

This place is really top notch. We had a large dinner party in December of 2025. We tried many different appetizers, and I saw a variety of entrees.
The bisque and the crab cakes were absolutely fabulous. For my entree, I had scallops and was very pleased. It was a very good experience.

One of the best restaurants I've been eating in USA. Everything in this restaurant is excellent. If you looking for culinary experience you must stop be here. It costly but it's worthless $$$$. (Average $100.00 per person)

Feel completely ripped off was absolutely not worth what we paid food was terrible and we drove an hour to get there. From appetizer to dessert it was so unremarkable.

They severely undercooked the filets, proceeded to bring out overly cooked edges and cold Brussels sprouts. The lobster Mac was fishy and the steaks were on par with Saltgrass. I am astounded that this establishment has such stellar reviews when it’s on par with a chain steakhouse. I cannot believe you charge that much for a steak yet cannot employ someone who knows how to cook it properly. The cherry on top they charge for soda refills because they use cans yet bring out a tiny glass and flat drinks. The bread pudding was a gelatinous slop and freezer burned ice cream. Would never recommend or return.

Vargas deserves more than 5 stars! The food was superb! The bisque was one of the best I've ever tasted. My husband and I both ordered their steak and lobster special, which was phenomenal. And their whipped potatoes were delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Their level of service and detail creates is perfect, especially when you are seeking a little more elevated dining experience.

We are visiting Galveston before our cruise and tried a few restaurants. This was the best one we tried. The whole dining experience was fantastic. The menu had so many options. They were flexible to modifying dishes to meet my dietary needs. Dessert was divine. We got the bread pudding and a chocolate dome, which was melted table side with a hot chocolate sauce revealing the warm brownie with cinnamon ice cream inside. 😱 We would totally come back when we get another chance. This place is a must-try!

If you go as a couple, sit in the bar, as it’s soooooo much quieter than the main dining room. The menu is the same in the bar and the food is great! We had ribeye, Caesar salad, onion rings and a baked potato. All were excellent! 😋

Amazing experience! Upscale, classy decor, friendly staff, and the food is beyond delish. I had the snapper in lobster sauce, hubs had the American Wagyu Ribeye and we shared the scallops over risotto and lump crab. Wine and cocktails were great. But above all, the service was some of the best we’ve had, anywhere. Bruno was kind, knowledgeable, and enhanced the entire evening. Can’t recommend this place enough!

The restaurant is truly an experience! From the moment we sat down, the service was exceptional. Our waiter took his time to guide us through the menu, making the evening feel personal and unhurried. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, which added a special touch to the night.

The timing of everything was perfect—our food and drinks all arrived together, and the attention to detail was impressive. As for the food, it was absolutely top-notch, exceeding all expectations.

If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience, I highly recommend coming here!
