Ron, our waiter was excellent and had extreme knowledge of all things. From the menu, drinks, their fish market and local history. It was an excellent experience.

This was one of the best experiences we had in Galveston. The seafood boil and Gumbo with jalapeno cornbread was excellent. It came out fast and was so fresh! Our server, RJ was very informative with his recommendations and helped us select some great food choices. The portion sizes exceptional! The atmosphere was very laid back and welcoming. Reservations may be required on the weekend, we went Sunday for dinner and I made reservations just in case, but there was plenty of space. We even caught the sunset as we sat on the patio. Make sure to ask for the desert menu. We had the banana pudding, so big we had to take it home!

This past Saturday we had a surprise 40th birthday party for my wife with over 50 people in attendance. The food, atmosphere, and staff at Katie's made it possible to celebrate my wife in the best way. The food was perfect: fresh, large servings, and reasonably priced. Everyone at our party said they enjoyed the food. The views from the back patio were spectacular, especially when the sun was setting. But, what made our experience extra special was the service. For Saturday night the manager on duty was Chris; if you read other reviews you will see his name positively mentioned multiple times-- for good reason! Chris was outstanding; he went out of his way to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves; he especially went out of his way to take care of my mom who was trying to do too much (she's a super busy body and doesn't know how to sit still). The wait staff was professional, courteous, and VERY patient (some of our party members were not keeping a close eye on their kids and the wait staff had to dodge them multiple times [I am so sorry to the staff and other patrons were around us!!]). We already liked eating at Katie's anytime we are in Galveston, but now Katie's has a special place in our hearts and as far as I am concerned Katie's is the only place in Galveston I feel comfortable spending my hard earned money for good food.

Food was excellent, server was nice. Server asked about dietary restrictions, which was nice; but then recommended items with dairy. It was okay, because I read the ingredients, but it could have gone wrong. Eat inside, the fishing boats have a powerful aroma.

Katie's is among the highest rated seafood restaurants in Galveston and does not disappoint. I was in town for a reunion of my submarine crew and we went to Katie's after touring the Naval Museum. The place had a very nice atmosphere. We were seated quickly. The wait staff was excellent. The seafood was fresh and everything we had was delicious. Our appetizers, including firecracker shrimp, and fried oysters, were excellent. I had an Amalfi Coast seafood salad that was huge, filled with seafood, and delicious. I also had a very wonderful bloody Mary. Considering the food, I think the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Galveston.

We were a large group of 21 had reservations but still waited a while for our 2 tables. Shrimp pineapple party bowl was yummy. But why only 2 sm chunks of pineapple, should of had more because there was way too much greens sprinkled with corn. Love the 4 slithes of avacado tho. Margarita was good, but Ive had better. Over all a good experience visit to Galveston.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere!! It is a 10 out of 10 recommend!! Our server was on top of her stuff. The food is so fresh and seasoned to perfection!! We ordered the stuff mushrooms for our appetizer!! We could have made that our meal!! For entrees we had the Stuffed crab platter and the Shrimp Alfredo. A little pricey but the portions are very generous. We had enough left overs for another meal!! We will definitely be back next time we are in Galveston!!

Plain & Simple….. Great experience. Located right on the boat docks with large outdoor dining area and the inside is very spacious so you not on top of the adjoins tables Our dinners were amazing & favorable. The cocktails were made to our liking 👍. The staff were all friendly & professional Well worth going to The shrimp were giant, the seafood gumbo & corn/crab chowder was very good and my grouper shrimp dinner covered in crab meat was the best choice Each dish was plentiful (no room for desert) Don’t be fooled by the touristy look outside … this is a local main stay as well

With the back drop of historic old fishing boats,some still being used and a Old decommissioned Oil rig now a Museum can't get better than this .I highly recommend...

Food was fabulous! Go Texan Shrimp Rodeo platter was a belly full! Dockside Oysters were good. Would not recommend Red Snapper Wings. It's a cool novelty, but would not order again. (It's the pectoral fin section of the fish battered and deep fried. Usually, this would go to waste when filleting the fish.) Red Snapper sandwich was excellent as well as the chef's catch.

The food we actually got was good. However, our appetizer came out when we were half way done with our meal. When the bill came, our bottle of wine was $10 more than the list price. While everything was corrected we were treated like we were being jerks and that they had done nothing wrong. We will never come back to this restaurant after the way the bartender acted. This is from someone who has worked 30 years in the service industry.

What started out to be an amazing lunch with my wife on our anniversary ended up ruining my day. We had a fantastic meal everything was delicious but then we moved on to the pier and my CC was declined so I looked at my app and it showed a 200.00 charge from Katie's and it showed the original bill, when I called to see what happened the manager I formed me that the new system they have has a broad Bluetooth range and accidentally pre authorized my CC for someone else's tab. And that basically he was sorry. Unbelievable!!!!

Katie's is the BEST! We love everything. Seafood is sooooo fresh... right of the boat. Literally right off the boat next door. You can go to their market and buy today's catch as they are off loading the snapper or shrimp. It is our go to market and restaurant when visiting Galveston!

You can really taste the quality and care that went into making it. Whether you’re a seafood lover or just trying something new, this fried fish is definitely worth trying this place in Galveston! Highly recommend it — I’ll be ordering it again for sure.

Katie’s Seafood delivered an outstanding dining experience that exceeded expectations on every level. I had the pleasure of dining with a group of ten, and from the moment we arrived, the service and food set the tone for an excellent evening. I started with the gumbo, and it was nothing short of fantastic. Rich, comforting, and perfectly spiced, the thick roux was the star deep, dark, and full of flavor, just how a great gumbo should be. Every bite had a warmth that felt both indulgent and authentic. For my entrée, I ordered the Korean snapper, and it was a showstopper. The portion was massive, more than generous, and beautifully plated. The snapper was perfectly cooked, flaking apart with ease, and the Korean-inspired marinade added a tangy, umami-rich punch. What really elevated the dish were the sides housemade kimchi and crisp Asian cucumbers which brought a refreshing, spicy crunch that balanced the dish brilliantly. Our server, Paula, deserves a special shout-out. Handling a large group can be a challenge, but she was attentive, calm, and incredibly patient throughout the meal. She made sure drinks were full, orders were correct, and everyone was comfortable, all while keeping a friendly and professional demeanor. The ambiance at Katie’s Seafood is relaxed yet vibrant, making it ideal for group outings, casual dinners, or even special occasions. With fresh Gulf seafood and globally inspired flavors, it’s clear this place has something special going on in the kitchen. Highly recommend if you’re in the area…go hungry and prepare to be impressed!

We came here based on the great reviews and tried to make a reservation online—but there weren’t any available. We totally understood why once we arrived! There was a 30-minute wait when we pulled up, which wasn’t a big deal. I grabbed a seat at the bar while my husband stood next to me. After about 10 minutes, a worker came by and brought him a chair—he didn’t have to, but he did, and that small gesture meant a lot! The bartender was also super sweet, checking in on us and keeping us updated about our table. We were lucky to be seated outside—it was a beautiful day with a great view, which added to the experience. Now let’s talk about the food… OMG, the food was INCREDIBLE. Everything we ate was delicious, and we genuinely enjoyed every bite. The whole experience—from the kind staff to the amazing food—was so good, we’ve officially become fans. My husband is already drooling over our next visit!

We had such a great experience at Katie’s Seafood! Even though they were super busy, we were seated in under 5 minutes on the dog-friendly patio with a beautiful, relaxing view of the pier and boats coming and going. We originally came for the crab and shrimp boil, but the ship hadn’t arrived yet. We switched to the Chef’s Special Red Snapper, and while we waited, Chef Brent himself came over to personally apologize and chat with us. He was so kind—and to our surprise, he brought out the full crab and shrimp boil anyway! Both meals were absolutely delicious. The snapper was phenomenal, and the boil was packed with flavor. Our server, Alex, was awesome—attentive and friendly. Service was timely, the vibe was laid-back, and the whole team was down-to-earth. They even have a market inside, and you get 10% off with your receipt. We wish we had time to come back again during our trip, but we’ll definitely be back next time. Highly recommend!

Boat to table deliciousness! Super fresh seafood and gorgeous ambience on the dock. Fish market next door belonging to the same people. Very accommodating to switch around sides, manner of cooking, and accompaniments. Food came out quickly, well prepared and flavorful. Lots of seating, though at 1pm the lunch rush was still going strong. There was a 30-45 minute wait at 1, but they do their best to turn tables over quickly and get you seated. There is seating wait outside and a nice dock with sights to see as you pass the time if you do have a wait.

Went to enjoy a family dinner. My husband's only criteria was that he wanted seafood. It was an hour wait (at 7 p.m. on a Sunday before a cruise day) but we decided to brave it and wait. The seafood was very good and very well seasoned. We were in a party of 8 and everyone loved their food. Highly recommend coming into this beautiful restaurant.
