Katie’s Seafood delivered an outstanding dining experience that exceeded expectations on every level. I had the pleasure of dining with a group of ten, and from the moment we arrived, the service and food set the tone for an excellent evening.
I started with the gumbo, and it was nothing short of fantastic. Rich, comforting, and perfectly spiced, the thick roux was the star deep, dark, and full of flavor, just how a great gumbo should be. Every bite had a warmth that felt both indulgent and authentic.
For my entrée, I ordered the Korean snapper, and it was a showstopper. The portion was massive, more than generous, and beautifully plated. The snapper was perfectly cooked, flaking apart with ease, and the Korean-inspired marinade added a tangy, umami-rich punch. What really elevated the dish were the sides housemade kimchi and crisp Asian cucumbers which brought a refreshing, spicy crunch that balanced the dish brilliantly.
Our server, Paula, deserves a special shout-out. Handling a large group can be a challenge, but she was attentive, calm, and incredibly patient throughout the meal. She made sure drinks were full, orders were correct, and everyone was comfortable, all while keeping a friendly and professional demeanor.
The ambiance at Katie’s Seafood is relaxed yet vibrant, making it ideal for group outings, casual dinners, or even special occasions. With fresh Gulf seafood and globally inspired flavors, it’s clear this place has something special going on in the kitchen.
